Mindfulness Is a Foundational Quality

Juvoni Beckford

Mindfulness is a foundational quality that helps you navigate your inner world to grasp the outer world better.

There are many ways to be in meditation. Explore the various ways that better match your personality: Guided, Yoga, Trance, Sound Baths, Breath, Love & Kindness, Drawing, Walking, Writing, and more. The commonality is exploring sensations within the present and recognizing the patterns of the body & mind.

When you lack external resources, it's crucial to cultivate your internal resources to manage stress, reclaim your focus & energize your spirit.

With mindfulness, you realize many of our automatic internal systems are developable skills.

  • Awareness - Your consciousness & thus your awareness can be expanded & increase its sensitivity like a camera that can zoom and progressively gets better over time.
  • Breathing - Your breath controls the body. How you breathe affects your heart and nervous system, impacting your thoughts and behavior.
  • Sleeping - Regulating your body through mindfulness and awareness of the nature of your thoughts & environment will ease your stress anxiety and lead to better sleep.
  • Seeing - Cultivating presence allows you to become an observer of the inner and the outer world. You'll be less in your mind and more attention towards peeling the layers and seeing more detail within reality.
  • Listening - A mature mindfulness practice will help you prune your ego and create space to receive others better.
  • Feeling - Emotions are the language of your body. You can cultivate body awareness to expand the vocabulary of your emotions and feel more profound while maintaining a presence to release the emotions.

Through mindfulness you can experience the flow of energy, the plumbing of your mind and a pathway to nourish yourself beyond the self.
