My Rebellion Is Unity

The gift of being able to bring people together is priceless. Creating connections that create their own big bang of connections and relationships making a world that wouldn’t have existed. 

It takes a tremendous amount of courage, resolve, and heart to bring people together, when so much of our society and algorithms create division. My rebellion has always been to create unity.

I don’t know who I would be today without all the lessons, experience, memories, adventures, and growth I’ve gotten through leading this ephemeral village of over 100 people in the desert.

It’s the hardest role and experience I go on each year. A ritual and test of how much I’ve grown the prior year. My experience afterwards feels like finishing a 150 mile race. It requires of me immense: physical, emotional, spiritual and cognitive endurance, strength and capacity, becoming superman in order to show each other the depth of our humanity.

Each burn, is like a furnace that develops me and forges a better human. Though I am mostly a collection of all I’ve observed and learned from the people I interact with, and who I want to be more like. I want to be more like my favorite aspects of you. 

In becoming myself, I realize more the interconnectedness of it all, we are never just ourselves. We all need each other.
